Apparently There is Now Only One “Art” !

Am I the only one who is saddened by the state of our media’s focus on actors, actors, actors, actors!!!

Every morning show, talk show, late night show, and now most NEWS shows only seem to report on MOVIES and ACTORS exclusively.  Of course we all know its just shilling for their most recent products but I do fondly remember when AUTHORS  and ARTISTS used to be important components of talk shows.

How do we get our children interested in writing or painting when all they see is an endless parade of ACTORS, ACTORS, ACTORS, AND MORE ACTORS.

Don’t get me wrong, I enjoy going to the movies and I think actors are very talented.  But, I also enjoy reading short stories and novels.  I enjoy seeing great art.  I would love to be able to turn on mainstream TV and see authors being interviewed with as much regularity as actors.

Am I the only one who thinks this way???

Please share if you agree.

About Hurricane River Publishing

I write mystery novels. The Butterfly Conspiracy and The Peacock Prophecy, feature Stepehn Moorehouse, his Uncle Phillip Kahle, and Stephen's romantic interest, Jeanette St. Jacques. The Maze At Four Chimneys features John Barrington and his family. The Black Orchid Mystery features a detective named Archie Archibald. This book takes place in Vero Beach, Florida but has ties to John Barrington from The Maze book. My latest book, Menagerie of Broken Dreams, brings back Stephen Moorhouse and his uncle Philip, as they travel to central Florida to make a movie. Things don't go as planned when they meet Doctor Merryweather and his run down roadside attraction the Menagerie.

  1. Our western society has turned away from facts to one of fiction. With so few people owning every form of media entertainment became the agenda. A person can read a newspaper, watch a TV channel, play a video game, listen to a radio station not knowing every one of them is owned by the same corporation. They wouldn’t want the facts to get in the way of highly profitable entertainment.
