Cougar Picture Taken In Northern Michigan

cougarAccording to WTVB, see link –

There is now proof that big cats are doing well in northern Michigan. This has been a topic of debate since I was a kid. But, now the Michigan Wildlife Conservancy has released aclear photograph taken in the daylight of a cougar in the Upper Peninsula which was taken on June 1st, 2012 in Marquette County. They think the cat weighs between 100 and 120 pounds and it looks very healthy.

I’m not surprised. I was lucky enough to see a Florida Panther walking along a road in the Everglades and I have friends that swear they have seen a panther in thier backyard – they live west of Merlbourne, Fl.

About Hurricane River Publishing

I write mystery novels. The Butterfly Conspiracy and The Peacock Prophecy, feature Stepehn Moorehouse, his Uncle Phillip Kahle, and Stephen's romantic interest, Jeanette St. Jacques. The Maze At Four Chimneys features John Barrington and his family. The Black Orchid Mystery features a detective named Archie Archibald. This book takes place in Vero Beach, Florida but has ties to John Barrington from The Maze book. My latest book, Menagerie of Broken Dreams, brings back Stephen Moorhouse and his uncle Philip, as they travel to central Florida to make a movie. Things don't go as planned when they meet Doctor Merryweather and his run down roadside attraction the Menagerie.
